Etchell 22 Sailboat Race
Etchells line up and try not to go over the starting line early during a Sunday race at Duck Island Yacht club. These boats race year round. During the summer they race in Duck Island Roads and during the winter they move up the Connecticut river and race there all winter. They call it frost biting.
Out to Pasture
Warinthorn Maneerot of Thailand (the country) walks the sheep out to a new pasture for the day to graze on fresh grass. They like to stop and munch along the way and she has to keep them moving. She is on an exchange program at the farm for a year. This is at Sankow’s Beaver Brook Farm in Lyme CT. They have lots of sheep and a few cows. The sheep are raised for meat, milk and wool.
Kiss Good-Night
Kaaryn Gustafson gives her daughter Anneke 8, a kiss and wishes her a good night and leaves her to read to herself in bed. Anneke and her mom, Kaaryn Gustafson live in West Hartford, CT. Kaaryn is a single mother and lives in a condo in West Hartford. She is a Associate Law Professor at the University of Connecticut and is raising Anneka by herself. Kaaryn is confined to a wheel chair due to an accident.

Girls Shoe Jumble
Girls will have shoes and the Forand house has no shortage of them. They are all kept neatly in the garage, pink being the predominant color.

Ski Lift Rescue
Bill Baxter, of New Hartford, is lowered from a chairlift at Ski Sundown during a refresher for the ski patrol. They practice this skill every year so that in the unlikely event of a lift failure, they can quickly evacuate the skiers from the chairlift.

Irish step dancers from the Scoil Rince Luimni Irish Dance Academy, performed at Bradley International Airport Thursday morning for St. Patrick’s Day welcoming travelers to Hartford and sending them on their way.
